Description

Muskowekwan Prevention Services is seeking a Program Assistant to provide administrative and coordination support to the Prevention Services, Bill C-92 Program, and Band Designate Program within Muskowekwan First Nation, including Touchwood and interprovincial areas.

The Program Assistant supports the planning, organization, and delivery of meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Responsibilities include assisting with prevention and early-intervention programming such as family supports, community outreach, cultural activities, and coordination of court-related travel and accommodations. The role includes responding to front-line calls, receiving referrals, and forwarding information to the Intake Unit.

The Program Assistant provides administrative support including correspondence, scheduling, filing, meeting minutes, and data entry. The position assists with budgeting, invoicing, financial tracking, and coordination of logistics such as venues, travel, catering, and Elder or Knowledge Keeper participation.

The role supports program tracking, reporting, and evaluation by maintaining accurate records, compiling statistics, and assisting with reports. The Program Assistant also supports community outreach and promotes culturally safe, trauma-informed service delivery.

Qualifications:

Diploma or certificate in Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, Human Justice, or related field
Minimum 2 years experience in Indigenous child, family, or community services
Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills
Knowledge of Muskowekwan First Nation culture and surrounding communities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Valid drivers license and ability to travel

Working Conditions:
Office-based with community outreach; some evening and weekend work required.

Terms:
Full-time (40 hours/week) with benefits. Must pass criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.
