Job description:

The Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic is responsible for responding to emergent and non- emergent calls for service; provides initial assessment, treatment and transport of ill or injured persons at the basic life support level and provide medical coverage for assessment and care at the RQHR Addictions Treatment Center.

License:

- Valid Class 4 driver's license
- Registered Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic (EMT/PCP)
Education:
- High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues
- Technical skills
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Work with highly stressed individuals and in high stressful environments
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Thorough knowledge of the SHA and EMS policies and procedures
- Knowledge, application and operation of equipment related to the practice of EMS
Other information and training:
- Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED)
- Emergency Vehicle Operations training
- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Health Care Provider Level C Certificate (HCP-C)
