Job Description:
Reporting to the Primary Health Care Manager, the Dental Health Educator - Senior specializes in stimulating, coordinating, and delivering prenatal/preschool oral health promotion activities aimed at reducing disease and promoting oral health for people in the community. Incumbents must have an ability to work independently and within multi-disciplinary teams. This position will work collaboratively with Population Health Unit Dental Health Educator to ensure ongoing standard of care.The incumbent will plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate the delivery of an active prenatal/preschool preventive oral health education and promotion program within the dental professionals scope of practice.The incumbent will supervise dental staff and provide management of the NW1 Dental Program."Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement.

Licenses:
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Education
- Graduate from a recognized Dental Therapy program
Competencies:
- Computer skills
Experience:
- Experience in health promotion/prevention strategies
- 3 years of experience as a dental health educator
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to develop and present oral health education/training to various groups
- Knowledge in Infection Prevention and Control standards
