Description

The City of Prince Albert is looking to fill a summer student position in GIS to work with various internal departments to validate equipment and asset data and assist with the development of standardized work order templates. This role will involve both office and field based work at the Water Treatment Plant and other City Facilities. The role could begin in mid May and would go till end of August. The position will primarily work out of the Water Treatment Plant but will also have crossover training with the GIS team.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Collect, compile, enter, clean up, and standardize asset data in Cityworks AMS.
Create and maintain asset lists, hierarchies, program details, and standardized Work Order templates within Cityworks.
Assist with equipment identification, documentation, site walkdowns, asset verification, and validation of asset locations and system relationships.
Support integration between GIS-based asset data and Cityworks records, ensuring spatial and non-spatial data is accurate, consistent, and current.
Use ESRI GIS software to organize, update, and manage maps, data, forms, and applications for the Water Treatment Plant.
Develop and document GIS data procedures, research improvement opportunities, and create simple tools or scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
Assist the water treatment plant in creating GIS forms and applications to collect field data efficiently.

Qualifications:
-Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post secondary program in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Engineering Technology, Asset Management or related program
-Applicant must have successfully completed a minimum of one (1) year of post-secondary education. Proof of enrollment and completion of coursework is required.
-Relevant course work in GIS, spatial analysis, database management or
asset management systems is considered an asset.
-Class 5 drivers license.
