Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented shop-based Repair Machinist/Millwright to join our team. The ideal candidate will specialize in the in-house assembly, fabrication and rebuilding of gearboxes, pumps, and hydraulic cylinders. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency in manual machining, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings. The Machinist/Millwright will contribute to efficient repair work by utilizing various machine tools, hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques, ensuring high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Dismantling, diagnosing, and rebuilding of industrial gearboxes, pumps, and hydraulic cylinders
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot machines such as lathes, mills, drills, presses, saws, and hydraulic test bench.
- Disassemble, clean, and rebuild gearboxes, replacing worn parts like bearings, gears, shims, and seals.
- Dismantle hydraulic cylinders to identify the root cause of failures, such as internal leaks, contamination, or physical damage to rods and barrels.
- Measure, identify, and source proper hydraulic seals, including U-cups, O-rings, and wear rings based on worn parts.
- Reassembly and high-pressure testing of hydraulic cylinders
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, depth mics, bore gages, dial indictors, and calipers.
- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and perform basic troubleshooting when issues arise.
- Collaborate with team members on projects requiring machining, assembly, or welding expertise.
Skills
- Extensive mechanical knowledge with experience in millwrighting and repair work.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Skilled diagnosing failures in hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with micrometers, depth mics, and calipers for precise measurements.
- Experience with gearbox rebuilding
