Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead the development of safe, sustainable, and effective fire response strategies and systems for the City of Yorkton;
Ensure all firefighting personnel are trained, equipped, and qualified to safely deliver fire and medical first responses;
Respond, as required, to fire, rescue, and medical events within the City, designated rural response areas, as well as mutual aid requests, providing command, control, and scene safety at events;
Maintains liaison with federal, Provincial, and Municipal authorities and others on matters related to the department;
Carry out fire investigations and compile documentation and report for the Fire Department and the Office of the Fire Commissioner.
Qualifications:
Grade XII diploma;
Must possess and maintain a Valid Class 3 Provincial drivers license with an air brake endorsement;
Must possess and maintain RCMP security clearance;
10 years Fire Fighting experience, including 5 years in a supervisory capacity;
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter Certification Level II
- NFPA 1002 Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator.
