Description

As part of the senior management team, the Human Resource (HR) Manager is
responsible for leading the human resource team, overseeing all aspects of human resource practices and processes, ensuring alignment with GGFN goals. This role supports needs through effective recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with labour laws. The HR Manager works to foster a positive workplace culture, maintain efficient HR operations, and ensure that the GGFN attracts, develops, and retains a high performing workforce.  

Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and descriptions for all positions.
Reviews and evaluates compensation structures, including salary and wage grids, to ensure internal equity, market competitiveness, and goal alignment.
Creates standardized, fair, and equitable recruitment processes and leads the hiring through job promotion, candidate screening, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:  
Completion of a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is preferred, and/or a combination of education and experience would be considered.  
CPHR designation would be beneficial, however not required.
Proven experience as a Human Resource Manager or in similar role.  
Strong knowledge of HR best practices and federal labour laws.  
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated coaching skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.  
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.  
Ability to lead and/or facilitate difficult conversations.  
High level of integrity and ethical standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, computerized Human Resource systems, or other beneficial tools.  
Completion of a criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
