HOUSEKEEPER
JOB PURPOSE
The Housekeeper's job is to maintain cleanliness throughout Ilarion Senior Residence's common areas, complete the recycling program and assist the Activities Department with setup and take-down of chairs, tables, and equipment. This position reports directly to the Executive Director.
CLEANING\HOUSEKEEPING
Able to clean guest rooms, common areas, laundry rooms, and bathrooms.
Able to dust mop, vacuum, wash, strip wax, and polish floors in an appropriate manner
Able to clean walls, windows, railing, light fixtures, door thresholds and frames, venting systems and furniture
Able to steam clean carpeted areas
Assist with the setup and take-down of the Activities Department chairs, tables, and equipment
Collects and disposes of garbage in an appropriate manner
Uses equipment appropriately, mops, vacuums, etc.
Maintains equipment or has equipment maintained by others
Complete tenant recycling program
Orders and restocks supplies in the janitor room and other areas, such as the bathrooms
Able to prepare solutions to make the appropriate strength of cleaning agents
Launder soiled mops and rags
SAFETY
Able to perform routine security functions
Able to follow directions on cleaning supplies
Labels, handles, and stores cleaning supplies properly knowledgeable about WHIMIS
Uses gloves and hand-washing techniques to prevent infections
Uses special precautions or cleaning techniques, if directed, for special circumstances.
Uses wet floor signs and other notices to warn others
