-Have knowledge in the operation of a tractor, rock picker and mower
-Directly responsible to the Public Works Lead Hand
-Perform work such as Mowing, Rock picking, Cleaning Ditches, Installing and replacing signs, cleaning the shop, maintaining equipment, maintaining the shop and yard and other duties as assigned by the Lead Hand
-Service Tractors and related equipment, make and assist in repairs
-Keep machines and equipment clean inside and out
-Make sure equipment is in safe operating condition (walk around inspections and operational checks done daily, checking oil, fluid, tires, leaks etc.)
-Carry necessary tools for minor repairs
-Change mower blades
-Maintaining a safe, neat and clean workspace
-Keep detailed timesheets, log books/maps and equipment sheets as required
-Work hours as scheduled or as revised by the lead hand dependent on weather conditions and extenuating circumstances
-Shop hours may vary
-Address fellow employees in a reasonable and respectful manner
-Good record keeping and time management skills and a willingness to follow directions
-Must apply to Council for Holidays/Time off
-No alcohol or drugs shall be consumed during working hours or after hours on RM shop property
-Must be physically and mentally fit
-Must be able to do heavy lifting
-Must possess a valid drivers license
-Be capable of working with minimal to no supervision
-Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance, Excavation and Trench Safety, Basic Rigging Principles, OHC, Power Mobile Equipment courses are all considered an asset
