Steel Reefs North Portal Gas Plant is a key 24 hour operation within the companys Southeast Saskatchewan region, playing an important role in Steel Reefs integrated energy platform. The facility is designed to safely and efficiently capture and process associated natural gas that would otherwise be flared during oil production, converting it into marketable products and usable energy.
The site is also evolving as part of Steel Reefs long term strategy. In addition to gas processing, North Portal includes turbines and electrical substations that are expected to generate approximately 20 megawatts of power on average, with electricity planned to be delivered to the SaskPower grid. This creates a dynamic work environment where employees can grow with a facility that continues to expand its capabilities and impact.
Reporting to the Lead Operator, the Shift Operator is responsible for the safe and reliable operations of the facility during their shift. The Shift Operator will be accountable for the monitoring of process equipment and providing intervention to maintain product spec within design limits. In addition to working directly with the Lead Operator, the Shift Operator has direct lines of communication with Business Development, Marketing and Facilities Engineering to address operational and product export concerns in a timely manner.
This role is based in North Portal, Saskatchewan and follows a seven on, seven off schedule, rotating between day and night shifts
