Description

Futuristic Industries is seeking a career minded professional to work in our Activity Center working typical business hours Monday through Friday, with the occasional evening or Saturday shift.

The successful applicant must be a highly motivated individual who has a keen interest in supporting and serving adults experiencing disability, and helping them live the very best versions of their life.

The Activity Centre Support Worker must be professional, and reliable and possess considerable initiative, while requiring minimal supervision.  

Some duties and responsibilities include:

1.Responsible for the complete planning and designing of constructive activities (i.e., daily living skills, crafts, pre-vocational skills, production and contract work) for Individuals in the Activity Centre, adjusting for each Individuals capabilities, preparing a daily schedule for said activities.
2) Direction and guidance of Individuals as specified in their Individual Program Plans and/or as directed by the Program Coordinator.
3) Assist individuals in recreational and quality of life activities
4) Provide regular reports on the progress of all Individuals and submit such reports in a timely fashion to the Program Coordinator.
5) Maintain a clean, orderly work environment and support Individuals and other employees in cleaning and organizing the activity area.

This is but a brief list of common responsibilities and duties.

An ideal candidate: completion of grade 12, supplemented with a Rehabilitation Worker certificate, Special Care (CCA) diploma or related experience within the human services and above all a willingness to learn and positive attitude.

Must have a valid driver's license and a criminal/vulnerable record check completed prior to start date.
