Description

Responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant operation of our trucking fleet. This role focuses on accident prevention, regulatory compliance, driver safety performance, and fostering a strong safety culture within the company. Works closely with drivers, dispatch, maintenance, and management to maintain high safety standards and protect our people, equipment, and public road users

Key Responsibilities
-Perform daily monitoring of driver Hours of Service logs via ELD software
-Monitor speed records and real-time truck speeds through fleet tracking systems
-Administer and track drug and alcohol testing
-Conduct reviews of drivers qualification file, ensure all documents are current and on-file
-Perform new-driver orientation, including safety policies, and defensive driving training
-Record and investigate all incidents, including cargo damage, collisions, and DOT inspections
-Open and manage accident claims with our insurance carrier, coordinate with adjusters and track file progress
-Complete safety records for drivers using speeding and incident reports; summarize and finalize records for management review
-Discuss incidents and overall safety standing with drivers; provide coaching and training as needed
-Schedule and lead monthly safety meetings or toolbox talks for drivers
-Ensure all required truck and trailer services are completed on schedule
-Provide support in registering and renewing unit plates (IRP) and assist with fuel tax calculations
-Prepare files for internal and external audits

Qualifications & Experience
-Minimum 1 year of experience in trucking safety, compliance, or fleet administration
-Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and cloud-based document management (OneDrive)
-Strong communication skills; able to coach drivers professionally and firmly
