The Supervisor is responsible for the recruitment, training, placement & supervision of child & youth support workers and the maintenance and evaluation of the child and youth program. The position reports to the Director of Programs.
Recruitment & training of casual staff
Ongoing supervision & support including scheduling of hours
Match workers with referrals & conduct initial assessment & work with agencies
Ensure each referral has a service plan tailored to their unique needs/ongoing communication with caregivers/supports
Report program activities to Ministry of Social Services
Keep accurate records of program statistics & activities
Develop programs that support youth in the community & maintain community partnerships
Attend relevant agency meetings, be knowledgeable about agency programs
Perform related administrative & record keeping duties, including reports, casework recording, correspondence & statistical recording as required & in accordance with agency policies & regulatory requirements
Perform work outside of regular operating hours, including evenings and/or weekends
Other duties as assigned
Degree in Social Work (BSW/BISW)
3-5 years supervisory experience
Relevant combination of education & experience may be considered
Theories/practices of human development, behavior & change, communication & conflict resolution; trauma & violence informed approaches.
Awareness of and cultural sensitivity to the customs, traditions, spiritual beliefs and philosophy and perspective on family dynamics of Indigenous, immigrant, refugee, and newcomer populations

Work independently & lead a team of casual workers
