In accordance with standards of WDN and reporting to the WDN Director of Director of Public Works, the Employee will:
Coordinate all phases of assigned capital projects, including project development, design, implementation, construction, inspection, and close-out.
Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, internal departments, and affected communitiesincluding First Nation governments where required.
Oversee documentation, reporting, and compliance with legislation, bylaws, and safety standards.
Assist with preparing annual operating and capital budgets and ensure projects are completed within approved financial guidelines.
Work with finance teams to track capital expenditures and contribute to long range capital planning and asset management strategies.
Ensure adherence to provincial and federal statutes, building codes, environmental standards, and workplace safety regulations.
Implement quality control processes and mechanisms that promote operational reliability, efficiency, and project cost certainty.
Lead and manage project teams, ensuring effective coordination, performance management, and adherence to organizational policies. This may be in conjunction with outside firms depending upon project scope.
Work with external Project Managers and Technical Consultants as required.
