As a member of the Hockey Operations department, the Head Coach will play a critical and integral role in the success of the Regina Pats. This unique position will work directly with the General Manager on a daily basis to develop and maintain a consistent and successful hockey team that challenges for a WHL Championship each season, develops players, and produces an entertaining product on the ice.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement annual and multi-year plans including but not limited to the Regina Pats roster, type of players, style of play, systems, tactics, development of prospects, strengths and weaknesses of the roster overall compared to other teams in the WHL.
Develop game plans, tactics and strategies, including but not limited to offensive and defensive systems as well as special teams play.
Coordinate practice plans focused on team and individual development, as well as team strategies and tactics for the season and for each specific opponent.
Pre-scout and code 2 to 3 of the most recent games for each upcoming opponent and present video to the Regina Pats players of opponents strengths, weaknesses, systems and strategies.
Conduct post-game review and analysis of each Regina Pats game on a team and individual player level.
Present individual teaching clips to players.
Education and Experience
Minimum of five (5) years prior experience working as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach at the CHL or Professional Level.
Hockey Canada National Coach Certification Program High Performance 1 Certification
Proficient in use of MS Office applications.
