ABOUT THE POSITION
The Director of Light and Power provides leadership and oversight for the Citys municipal electric utility, ensuring the safe, reliable, compliant, and financially sustainable delivery of electric utility services. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and serving as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the position is accountable for strategic direction, operational performance, financial stewardship, and people leadership within a complex and highly regulated environment. The Director enforces strong operational and financial controls, leads a unionized workforce, and ensures alignment between Council priorities, regulatory requirements, and departmental performance. Given the utilitys significant contribution to City revenues, this role requires sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to lead decisively in high risk and high visibility situations.
