Description

Responsibilities:  
    Under direction of the Manager, HR, implement company and business unit HR strategies, programs and processes
    Support leaders in interpreting policies and resolving employee relations matters
    Handle personnel complaints/concerns and participate in their resolution
    Work with hiring managers to develop and execute staffing plans, initiate recruitment, prepare job descriptions and assess job level/salary ranges
    Administer short/long term disability and Workers comp claims
    Monitor training/development needs, participate in the development of plans/programs, support implementation
    Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems/practices
    Support administration of collective bargaining agreement
    Support all aspects relating to corporate benefits package
    Support and work with the Administrative/Logistics Supervisor to provide support to the Administrative/logistics team with flight management and general administrative tasks
    Support and work other HR staff members on the management of employment issues

Qualifications/Skills:
    Degree in HR (or equivalent combination of education and working experience)
    Minimum 5 years HR generalist experience
    Intermediate skill with computer applications including MS Office and HR databases
    Proficient knowledge of federal and provincial employment legislation, acts and policies
    Knowledge and practice of competency-based interview techniques
    Excellent communication skills; able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
    Goal oriented and able to manage multiple projects
    Able to make administrative/procedural decisions, and exercise judgment on confidential issues

Work Location/Schedule:
    McClean Lake site
    14 days in/14 days out rotating schedule
    Normally an 11 hour workday, some activity outside normal working hours may be required
