Description

There is a temporary summer student full-time Clerk I position in Acquisition Services at the Prince Albert Public Library to conduct an inventory check from 25 May 2026 to 28 August 2026. Interested applicants, please submit your application by email (jobs@princealbertlibrary.ca) or provide a cover letter and resume in hard copy to Meghan OLeary, Deputy Director, by 4:00 p.m. on 18 May 2026. Cover letter must include which post secondary program you are enrolled in for the Fall of 2026. We may ask for proof of student status.

Job Duties:
Scanning library material barcodes into the Inventory system
Keeping track of progress and time
Updating circulation statuses of library items
Searching for items on inventory reports
Reporting to project supervisor as necessary
Other duties as required

Required Qualifications:
Must be a current post-secondary student or enrolled in a post-secondary program for the fall of 2026.

Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
1. Ability to take direction and complete assigned duties, often without constant supervision; requires superb time management skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment
2. Ability to consistently provide courteous and friendly public service, to handle all situations with resourcefulness and tact, and to work well under pressure
3. Familiarity with computers
4. Good verbal and written communication skills
5. Proven ability to work cooperatively as part of a team, or independently
6. Ability to complete detailed work accurately

Desirable Qualifications:
1. Experience in a library environment
2. General office and clerical work experience
