Summer Student JobPosition Description
AFCS is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented summer student to assist with communications of the organization and awareness of individual programs. This role supports the outreach, engagement and coordination of safety and more inclusive environments for urban Indigenous communities.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as first point of contact for members, partners, stakeholders, and the public, ensuring professional and responsive communication
Coordinate logistics for a variety of meetings
Assist in planning, organizing and executing planned project activities and events
Assist in developing and distribution of educational materials
Create and schedule social media posts, monitor engagement and respond to inquiries with team guidance
Track participant, feedback, and align with outcomes for project evaluation
Maintain records, prepare reports and support team meetings
Work closely with team and community partners to ensure project goals are met
Assist team in providing training and resources to support safe spaces across Saskatchewan
Foster accessible, culturally grounded, intergenerational safe spaces
Undertake additional duties as assigned to support organizational operations and strategic priorities
Qualifications
Be aged between 15-30 years of age at the start of the summer job
Be legally allowed to work in Canada
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, preferably communications, social sciences, Indigenous studies or related field
Have strong written, verbal, visual communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of team
Willingness to travel within Saskatchewan with the potential for across Canada
Comfortable using social media platforms, online design software (Canva) and Microsoft suite
Have knowledge of the TRC Calls to Action, MMIWG2S
