Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our long-term care home located 10 minutes south of Saskatoon. The ideal candidate has a strong background in food preparation and safety, with a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential in ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals prepared to meet their appropriate dietary requirements and textures.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals based on each residents dietary needs and care plan.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen.
- Assist with meal preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and ingredient preparation.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal and snack service.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly.
- Support the training of new kitchen staff on food preparation and safety procedures.

Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience in a long-term care or similar food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation, dietary requirements, and food safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn and grow

Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year cooking experience, preferably in a care home or similar healthcare setting
- Valid Food Handler Certification (e.g., Food Safe, SafeCheck, or equivalent) is considered an asset
- Availability to work 12-hour shifts on weekends is required
