Description

Zagim Anishinabk is a progressive First Nations, located around 22 KM Northeast of the Town of Grenfell in Saskatchewan.
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Health Services Manager the Custodian is responsible for the maintenance, repair and monitoring of the Goose Lake School in accordance with the regulations set out in the Health Canada Operations & Maintenance Guidelines for federal buildings on reserve.
DUTIES:
    For completing daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual cleaning/maintenance tasks as set out in Health Canada facilities guidelines.
    For operating and maintaining a variety of cleaning equipment such as: buffer, shampooer, vacuum, upholstery cleaner, floor stripper.
    Maintaining an inventory of all cleaning supplies and equipment and ensuring these resources are secured and properly stored.
    Replenishing supplies as required according to established process.
    Ensuring building access areas are free of any hazards and debris.
    Monitoring mechanical and electrical systems and reporting any deficiencies as noticed and follow up on repairs as directed.
    Coordinate any contracted repair persons to ensure minimal disruption to employees and services.
    Monitoring building security systems and test systems regularly and recording dates and times of tests.
    Coordinating the annual facility inspection with facilities manager from Health Canada.
    Comply with all health and safety precautions in the performance of duties, including but not limited to supply storage, equipment operations, and pest control.
    Any other such duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
    Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; or at least one year of job-related experience.
    Skills to operate and maintain commercial electrical and mechanical systems.
    WHIMIS, confined space would be an asset.
    Skills to operate and maintain simple janitorial equipment.
    Physical capabilities to complete commercial cleaning tasks.
