Description

The City of Prince Albert invites applications for multiple casual positions of Janitor/Event Worker I in the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department. These positions will be located at one of the City arena's or at the Lake Country Coop Leisure Centre.

Employees in this position perform a wide variety of janitorial functions as well as manual labour in and around the Arenas. Work of this class includes both heavy and light physical labour.

Shifts will be 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. or 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Required Qualifications:

Grade 12
Valid Drivers License

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

-Perform a variety of janitorial duties required to maintain a clean, safe and sanitary environment in and around the facility.
-Perform manual labour and custodial duties required throughout special event functions.
-Assist the Arena Attendants in a variety of arena maintenance operations.
-Perform heavy manual tasks when required.
-Keep records of work performed.
-Follow the Act, Regulations and Policies of Occupational Health & Safety.
-Follow Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Agreements, policies and procedures.
-Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Ability to operate small hand and motorized tools.
-Ability to operate small motorized equipment
-Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in writing.
-Ability to work with minimal supervision.
-Ability to perform heavy manual labouring tasks.
-Ability to deal effectively with the public and co-workers.
-Ability to maintain accurate records.
