PickNic's Catering is excited to be hiring 1 Permanent Full-Time Pastry Baker!

Local to Saskatoon Applicants only please. We cannot accept international applicants.

Pay is BASED ON EXPERIENCE: Wage rate starts at $18.00/Hour + Gratuities, but depending on experience, we may offer more.

As the Baker you need to be able to confidently perform the majority of the following tasks, training can be provided for the rest:

-Scaling, mixing, and baking a Wide Variety of Cookies, Pastries, Squares, Muffins, Scones, Parfaits, Cheesecakes
-Preparation of Special Occasion/Birthday Cakes
-Production of, or willingness to Learn the Production of, Wedding Cakes Using Buttercream and Fondant.
-Consulting with Catering Manager for occasional Dessert Menu creation, for custom orders or new permanent menu items.
-Managing Bake Shop Inventory, including Orders and Product Research.
-Occasional Assistance in other departments with Prep work. (Cold kitchen/Hot kitchen prep)
-Assisting with Unloading Groceries
-Running Deliveries
-General Clean up

Hours of this position generally are:
8AM-4PM Tuesday  Saturday but earlier or later start times are definitely manageable. We are flexible for scheduling  especially as you become more independent in your position.

The ideal applicant:

Minimum 2 Year experience in Pastry Shop/Baking/Cake Decoration

IDEALLY Completed a Pastry Arts or Baking or Culinary Arts/Cooking Program

Must be a reliable, mature, team-player

Speak Excellent English

Have a Class 5 Drivers license, with reasonable knowledge of the city

Be able to lift up to 50 lbs weight

Work quickly and efficiently, be tidy, organized and have a positive personality!
