The Ministry of Social Services, Child & Family Programs, North Service Area, is seeking Emergency Duty Workers for Buffalo Narrows and/or Pinehouse to provide after-hours emergency services to families. These are permanent part-time positions with no guaranteed hours, offering flexibility and meaningful work supporting children and families during crisis situations. Opportunities may vary based on emergency call volume, with future vacancies filled through an eligibility list valid for up to six months.
The Ministry is looking for dependable, community-focused individuals who can respond effectively to child welfare emergencies. Ideal candidates are able to work independently, manage crisis situations, and exercise sound judgment while supporting family safety. The role reports to a Child and Family Supervisor and requires availability for rotating after-hours on-call duties, flexible scheduling, travel, and physically supporting families, including lifting and carrying small children.
Candidates should have strong knowledge of human services policies, practices, and procedures, typically gained through a diploma or degree in a human services-related field and/or experience in a human service setting. Applicants must be legally eligible to operate a vehicle in Saskatchewan and clearly demonstrate how they obtained their knowledge, skills, and abilities in their resume or cover letter.
