Description

The Ministry of Community Safety provides supervision and rehabilitation services for young and adult offenders, promotes appropriate and effective policing, and supports community and public safety services throughout Saskatchewan to achieve the vision that All People in Saskatchewan Live in Safe and Just Communities.

The Opportunity

As the Deputy Director of Health - Youth, you will play a key leadership role within the Health Services team, reporting to the Director of Health Operations. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight of health service delivery within youth provincial correctional centres, ensuring that care is safe, efficient, high-quality, and aligned with provincial standards and direction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide facility-level operational leadership for health services within youth correctional facilities, overseeing clinical and administrative staff to ensure safe, high-quality care.
- Provide direct leadership and performance oversight to the Nurse Manager, with overall accountability for clinical practice standards, staffing models, and quality of care across the facility.
Foster a collaborative, team-based culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and trauma-informed, culturally safe practices.
- Manage facility-specific health service contracts, ensuring compliance with standards, performance expectations, and fiscal accountability within delegated authority.
- Collaborate with correctional leadership to integrate and strengthen health services within facility operations and planning in alignment with provincial direction.
