The Opportunity
As the Deputy Director of Health - Youth, you will play a key leadership role within the Health Services team, reporting to the Director of Health Operations. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight of health service delivery within youth provincial correctional centres, ensuring that care is safe, efficient, high-quality, and aligned with provincial standards and direction.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead multidisciplinary teams, strengthen operational excellence, and contribute to the effective integration of health services at the facility level within the correctional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide facility-level operational leadership for health services within youth correctional facilities, overseeing clinical and administrative staff to ensure safe, high-quality care.
- Provide direct leadership and performance oversight to the Nurse Manager, with overall accountability for clinical practice standards, staffing models, and quality of care across the facility.
Foster a collaborative, team-based culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and trauma-informed, culturally safe practices.
- Manage facility-specific health service contracts, ensuring compliance with standards, performance expectations, and fiscal accountability within delegated authority.
- Collaborate with correctional leadership to integrate and strengthen health services within facility operations and planning in alignment with provincial direction.
