The Role
As part of the Investor Relations & Communications department and reporting to the Director, Communications, this role is responsible for shaping and supporting the development and execution of Camecos media and public relations strategies.
In this role, you will be:
-Managing Camecos relationship with media and serving as a company spokesperson for media inquiries and interview requests.
-Researching emerging issues to prepare appropriate corporate messaging and communications materials with the input of relevant subject matter experts.
-Supporting the development and delivery of materials to meet Camecos public reporting and disclosure requirements in areas such as investor relations and regulatory affairs.
-Leading and supporting the development and execution of proactive communication plans, key message campaigns and advertising strategies on a variety of subjects.
-Overseeing Camecos website and social media channels.
-Collaborating with colleagues from various departments on multi-disciplinary issues and files to support the development of consistent messaging.
-Representing Cameco on committees of various industry associations.
-Supporting the department strategy by continuously adapting and improving communications effectiveness, clarity, and reputational risk management.
Required:
-bachelors degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related discipline;
-10 or more years of progressively responsible experience in communications, media relations, public relations, journalism or a related role;
-equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered;
-previous experience within media and/or engaging with media;
-experience with managing websites and social media;
