This is an inaugural role and will require the creation and editing of governance and operation-based policies/procedures and documents. As such, the role is suitable for someone who is self-motivated, thrives working independently, takes initiative and ownership, has a diverse skill set, is resourceful, and has the ability to adapt to organizational and political changes.
Office and Administrative Operations: Manage day-to-day office functions and systems; maintain digital and physical filing systems; handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence; support scheduling, calendars, and meeting coordination
Financial and Reporting Support: Process invoices, receipts, and expense tracking; Assist with bookkeeping (QuickBooks); Prepare basic financial summaries for the Council; Support grant tracking and reporting documentation
Communications and Member Support: Respond to member inquiries in a timely, respectful manner; Create and manage social media postings, email campaigns, and announcements; Maintaining contact lists and databases
Organizational Support: Prepare council meeting items and packages;
Maintain records for compliance and reporting; Support sponsorship and partner coordination
Three or more years of administrative or office management experience required.
Experience working with a First Nations organization or community, with an understanding of the water sector, training programs, and/or non-profits would be an asset.
