Description

Currently recruiting for a Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) to work in an interdisciplinary team based primary care clinic. The clinic is open from 0815-0530 and is closed on the weekends. The clinic has 12 physicians and 5 nurse practitioners along with other services.  Please review our  website to learn more about the clinic environment.  

Receive and Assist Patients

Charting on care provided.
Manage the waiting room.
Take patients into examining rooms in a timely manner
Assist with mobility and/or transfer of patients

Assessment

Do prenatal weights and blood pressures
Do vital signs on patients as required, e.g., blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature and pulse oximetry
Assist with sgi medicals.
Do ECGs as required
Assist with paps and pelvic exams
Assist Physician as required

Treatments

Assist Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and RNs with patient treatments as required, e.g., minor surgery (assuring correct labelling of Lab specimens), IUD insertion, endometrial biopsies, wound suturing, immunizations etc.
Assist patients in the Lab
Do suture or staple removal

Referrals

Arrange urgent referral appointments to other doctors, specialists, and/or agencies as requested by Physicians or other health care providers
Document all referral information in patient charts

Patient Education

Provide patients with pertinent health information


Indirect Patient Care

Accurately document information about any services provided in patient chart
Assist Health Records
Patient Appointments
Assist with scheduling patient appointments as required
Supplies: Maintain adequate medical and office supplies in exam rooms and at the nursing station
Check expiry dates on all supplies and medications
Order supplies as required
Restock supplies
