Description

The Office Assistant  Summer/Co-op Student provides support to the Human Resources Department by performing administrative duties and manages the personnel filing system including; filing, tracking files, and archiving. This role contributes to the effective delivery of human resource services. This position offers a great opportunity to develop administrative skills in a collaborative, professional environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Services
* Manage external and internal service queries.
* Process incoming and outgoing mail.
* Assist the Human Resources Generalist in the recruitment and onboarding processes.
* Assist the Human Resources Generalist in data analysis and reporting.
* Enter and update employee information in HRIS and other applicable database.
* Manage personnel filing system including filing, tracking files and archiving.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Leadership
* Model agency values and ensure policy compliance
* Ensure policies, procedures and agency standards are met.

Management of Resources
* Seek to improve processes and enhance services and efficiencies within the department and across the agency.
* Participate in the implementation of HR initiatives and ensure assigned projects are delivered within proposed timeframes and budgets.

Safety
* Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
* Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
