Description

The R.M. of Spiritwood No. 496 is accepting applications for Seasonal Full-Time Heavy Equipment Operator positions.

The duties and responsibilities of the positions include, but are not limited to the following:

    safe operation of municipal equipment such as a grader, tractor, mower, excavator &/or scraper for the maintenance of municipal roads;
    general service, maintenance and minor repairs of equipment as scheduled and/or required;
    daily safety & maintenance checks
    manual labour as required for sign installation, culvert maintenance, general shop and yard maintenance;
    perform other duties as directed by the Foreman from time to time.

Skills and Abilities
    have skills & knowledge in the maintenance & operation of heavy equipment;
    be able to work well unsupervised and be a team player;
    be safety-minded;
    have a strong work ethic;
    have good interpersonal skills;
    have strong communication, organisation, and documentation skills;
    must keep work area clean and safe.
    
Applicants must:
    have a Powered Mobile Equipment (PME) certificate or be willing to achieve;
    have WHMIS or be willing to achieve;
    possess a valid Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 or air endorsement would be an asset);

Salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. The RM offers a benefits package and pension plan.
