The ideal candidate will be responsible for daily programming, curriculum leadership, and licensing compliance as the Centre Director. They will follow standards as set out by the Ministry of Education and support early learning practices that promote current teachings for child development. Computer skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, record keeping experience, or management experience are desired, though not a requirement. The successful candidate will require a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
The Director will be responsible for:
-Daily program operations; including oversee classroom environments and daily program, support educators in child health and safety, ensure curriculum aligns with the Play and Exploration: Early Learning Program Guide
-Follow Ministry regulations: curriculum, licensing requirements, The Child Care Act, 2014 and The Child Care Regulations, 2015
-Work with the Board of Directors to ensure policies and procedures are being followed, offer input in creating and/or amending policies for the Centre, communicate in order to address issues as they arise, etc.
-Interact with parents and caregivers to encourage involvement in daycare activities, to share details about their childs learning and development, and to foster positive relationships
-Creating documentation that is current and includes key details in the areas of: financial records, staff support and feedback, childrens behaviour and growth & development, OHS, compliance records, etc
-Fostering an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative environment among staff members that enriches the experiences of children at the Centre
-Providing mentorship, coaching, guidance and opportunities for professional development to educators and staff
