Reports Gateway House/Central Avenue Supervisor
Responsibilities: To work with the clients of the YWCA Central Avenue Shelter, providing guidance, support and
life skills to empower and promote independence. To maintain a clean and secure facility and assist the
residents when necessary.
Qualifications:
Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Drivers License and a clean abstract.
Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges, substance use concerns, and/or cognitive disabilities.
Maintain professional boundaries in and out of the workplace.
Work well in a crisis.
Must be able to lift heavy items/preform heavy cleaning
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications with strong computer skills.
Must pass Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Duties:
Guide the residents, providing support and advocacy, as they transition into adulthood/independence.
Must be a good role model to the youth/clients.
Maintain building security, perform room checks/bag checks.
Ensure major housecleaning duties are complete as well as normal everyday cleaning/chores.
Attend staff meetings, training & workshops as required.
Provide feedback to Manager on client issues, major events and incident reports.
Attend to crises as they arise during non office hours. Contact the Manager in the event of a major crisis.
Ensure all YWCA Prince Albert policies are adhered to.
Ensure all policies related to MSS, CPS/YO & CSC are adhered to.
Must be able to cover shifts with little to very short notice.
Must be able to work both evenings, weekends and holidays.
