Our Saskatoon and Regina Fleet Maintenance division is currently seeking an experienced Journeyman Truck and Transport or Heavy Equipment Mechanic. As the successful candidate, your responsibilities will include repairing and maintaining our fleet of Hydrovac trucks, Water trucks, Highway Trucks and high-pressure pumps, among other vehicles and equipment.

This position requires a dependable, enthusiastic, and organized individual, and is ideal for an experienced Mechanic with previous leadership experience.
Please note, the chosen individual must possess their own hand tools and storage toolbox. However, the successful candidate is eligible for an annual tool allowance following one year of service ($500 for year 2&3, $1000 annually after that)
Key Accountabilities:
Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnostic work on a wide range of mobile and stationary equipment.
Complete repairs on all mechanical systems as required. Including, but not limited to, engines, transmissions, driveline, brake systems, hydraulic systems, etc.
Participate in the GFL safety program and ensure compliance with all GFL and Fleet Maintenance safety standards, policies and procedures.
Ensure repaired equipment is properly tested for correct performance and operation.
Utilize excellent organizational skills in order to complete accurate, legible and descriptive documentation for all completed repairs.
Install or fabricate aftermarket equipment and components as assigned.
Communicate effectively with Shop Foreman, Lead Hand and Parts Coordinator.
Requirements:
Journeyman certificate in either Truck and Transport or Heavy Equipment
Experience with the SGI Motor Vehicle Inspection Program an asset
Class 5 Drivers License with a clean drivers abstract required, 1A or 3A Drivers License preferred
