Description

Addictions & Wellness Counsellor to provide leadership in the addictions field. Reporting to the Community Wellness Manager, this role focuses on prevention, education, intervention, and aftercare support within the community.Key Responsibilities
Identify ongoing community needs related to addictions prevention, education, rehabilitation, and follow-up services
Develop program objectives, procedures, and priorities aligned with departmental policies
Deliver workshops and information sessions to youth, schools, and community groups
Conduct regular home visits to clients participating in or referred to the program
Coordinate prevention, treatment, referral, and aftercare support services
Provide ongoing counselling, consultation, and support to individuals and groups
Address sensitive issues including substance use, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and mental health challenges
Facilitate and support healing circles, youth groups, and cultural/family camps
Represent addictions program initiatives at community meetings Qualifications & Skills
Commitment to a healthy, addiction-free lifestyle
Chemical Dependency Diploma and/or relevant experience in the addictions field
Strong understanding of addictions programming and treatment approachesValid driverss license and willingness to travel
Successful completion of an RCMP Criminal Record Check
