The Saskatoon Unitarians seek a skilled and organized Administrator to support the smooth operation of congregational life. This role is central to our community, serving as the first point of contact and ensuring effective administration, communication, financial management, and building coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Operations:
Maintain the church calendar, coordinate bookings, manage digital and paper files, purchase supplies, and keep regular office hours. Update denominational contacts and support general operations.
Communications:
Respond to phone, email, and social media inquiries. Produce the weekly eNews, Board communications, and congregational notices (MailChimp). Post Sunday Services on social media and maintain the website (WordPress). Support pledge campaigns and assist members in accessing shared resources.
Sunday Services Support:
Coordinate service information, prepare weekly slides, upload materials, and print scripts for service leaders.
Bookkeeping & Financial Administration:
Record and deposit funds, maintain accurate records (QuickBooks Online), and prepare monthly reports. Process payroll, CRA remittances, and issue tax receipts (T4s, T4As). Complete required filings (CRA, WCB, non-profit) and support budgeting and year-end processes.
Building Management:
Coordinate rentals and space use, prepare agreements, collect fees, and maintain the online calendar. Oversee building access, keys, and security systems. Arrange maintenance and purchase supplies with the Property Chair.
Core Competencies & Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; highly organized and detail-oriented; able to prioritize; trustworthy and discreet. Proficiency in Google Workspace, MS Office, QuickBooks Online, MailChimp, Zoom, and WordPress (Divi).
The Administrator works closely with the Treasurer, Board, Sunday Services Committee, and Property Chair to support a welcoming, well-functioning congregation.
