JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will complete a one-year assignment as Project Manager to lead development and implementation of the Volunteers Supporting Aging in Place initiative (see project overview).

Following this term, the role continues as Executive Assistant / Office Manager (EA/OM), a core position providing governance, administrative, and operational support to the CAO, Mayor, and Council.

PROJECT MANAGER DUTIES (1-YEAR TERM)

Develop and implement program infrastructure for a volunteer-based system supporting vulnerable populations, including policies, procedures, training, role descriptions, and documentation.
Establish and manage a volunteer system using Better Impact software for coordination, tracking, and reporting.
Implement quality assurance processes to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
Recruit, onboard, train, and deploy volunteers to operational status.
Develop a public service directory of local, regional, and provincial supports.
Ensure alignment with RVCL Code of Ethics and the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement.
Create scalable frameworks adaptable for other rural communities.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT / OFFICE MANAGER DUTIES

Coordinate Council agendas, minutes, and reports in compliance with legislation and procedures.
Maintain records management systems ensuring proper documentation, retention, and access.
Support governance functions, including policy development, bylaw preparation, and compliance.
Oversee daily administrative operations and workflow coordination.
Perform additional duties as required to support municipal operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in project management
Policy development experience (asset)
Volunteer management experience (asset)
Health care experience (asset)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Relevant diploma or degree (asset)
Experience in municipal governance
