Job Description: Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily child and youth mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides supervision to students in formal clinical practicums. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

- Verbal communication skills

Knowledge and Abilities
- Can function independently & as member of interdisciplinary mental health team
- Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
- Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty.
- Ability to manage a high demand caseload and other work assignments.
- Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation
- Broad knowledge of mental health community resources.
- Knowledge of the diversity of cultures, values and traditions
- Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups
