Description

Prairie Smoke & Spice BBQ is a growing food service business with operations based in Regina. We are National and World BBQ Champions.

Our catering business is mature and growing each year.   We are looking for an experienced cook to learn about BBQ and grow with us in all areas of our businesses.  We have just completed construction of our brand new commercial kitchen and BBQ studio space.  

POSITION TITLE:  BBQ Cook
POSITION TYPE:   Full Time through December 2026

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for someone to help with food prep and cooking.  This person will work on our food truck and assist with catering jobs, large public vending events, and miscellaneous maintenance tasks.  As skills grow, it will open up the opportunity to travel and participate in BBQ events across the country.

DUTIES
- Food Prep and cooking for catering and food truck  this includes all meats, side dishes, and desserts
- Work food truck during lunch service and private catering events.
- Maintain our reputation for Championship-quality food and excellent customer service
- Help and grow in other areas of the business  including travel to events such as competitions, ribfests, classes, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of kitchen line cook or chef experience
- Valid Drivers licence
- A passion for grilling / barbecue is desired but not mandatory
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with customers and other team members.
- Energetic, Flexible, high level of initiative
- Genuine passion to provide extraordinary customer service
- Safe Food Handling certification
