Description

Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation is seeking a strategic and results-driven and will Report to the Director of Operations,
Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Band Registry Coordinator to manage and maintain the Nations membership records and registry services.
This position plays a critical role in supporting community members through the Indian Status and Band membership process, ensuring accurate records, and maintaining compliance with federal legislation and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date Band membership records, including births, deaths, adoptions, reinstatements, and amendments
Receive and process applications for Indian Status and Band membership
Assist applicants through the registration process, including guidance on required documentation
Verify eligibility and support the determination process in accordance with federal legislation
Communicate registration decisions and coordinate issuance of Status Cards
Conduct research using archival sources (e.g., census data, vital statistics, church records) to verify ancestry and eligibility
Liaise with Indigenous Services Canada and other relevant agencies
Add or remove members from the Band List in accordance with the Membership/Citizenship Code
Prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence as required
Ensure strict confidentiality and integrity of sensitive personal information
Education & Experience
Grade 12 required; post-secondary education in Administration or related field preferred
Experience working with First Nations governance, registry services, or administration considered an asset
Familiarity with federal Indian Registry processes and legislation is an asset
