The Bookkeeper is designed for individuals who are building their expertise in bookkeeping while taking on more client interaction, problem-solving responsibilities, and building autonomy. In this role, you will manage fundamental bookkeeping tasks while supporting client needs and proactively resolving issues, guided by Senior Bookkeepers and the leadership team. Key Responsibilities:
Perform full-cycle bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries with increased independence.
Manage month-end closing processes, collaborating with Senior Bookkeepers as needed for complex reconciliations and adjustments.
Act as a point of contact for designated clients, providing clear communication and updates on bookkeeping tasks.
Identify discrepancies or issues in client records, researching solutions and working with Senior Bookkeepers to implement corrective actions.
Continue to build technical skills through training sessions and by collaborating with Senior Bookkeepers.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field considered an asset; equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience: 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally with some client-facing responsibilities.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with full-cycle bookkeeping and basic financial reporting.
Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a proactive problem-solver, and a team player.
