Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and organized Part-Time Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children in our care. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a childcare setting and understands the importance of food safety, dietary needs, and creating balanced menus.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks in accordance with Canadas Food Guide and childcare regulations
Accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, dairy-free)
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Manage food inventory, grocery ordering, and budgeting
Keep accurate records (menus, temperatures, cleaning logs)
Work collaboratively with centre staff and leadership

Qualifications

Previous cooking or food preparation experience (institutional or childcare setting preferred)
Food Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Knowledge of nutrition for young children is an asset
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (required)

Schedule

Part-time hours (to be discussed; typically weekday daytime hours)
