EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Recreation Practitioner
The Town is looking for an energetic and community-minded Recreation Practitioner to help plan and deliver programs, events, and services for residents of all ages. This role supports daily recreation operations and may act as the Recreation Director in the absence of the Director of Recreation and Parks.
What You Will Do
Plan and run recreation programs, events, and activities
Supervise senior, youth programs and seasonal staff
Assist with facility bookings, scheduling, and user inquiries
Support pool operations and ice scheduling
Manage social media, promotions, and community communications
Assist with grants, budgeting, and reporting
Support department projects and partnerships
What You Bring
Post-secondary education in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience in program planning, community engagement, or recreation services
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in social media, Microsoft Office, and administrative systems
Valid Class 5 Drivers License (or equivalent)

Position Details
Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, but may be required to work after business hours and weekends depending on the operational need
