The Family Worker uses family systems theory to assess and maintain the balance between protecting children and strengthening and maintaining the family unity. Under the supervision of the Child Protection Supervisor, the Family Worker carries out the mandate of The Child and Family Services Act of Saskatchewan. You will use a strength-based approach to gather, analyze and interpret child and family information to formulate assessments for the purpose of case planning. The Family Worker must continually assess the immediacy of risk, make key decisions in consultation with the Supervisor and respond in a timely manner. In addition, the worker will coordinate and/or provide direct service to the family using an evidence-based approach. The Family Worker uses family-based systems theory to assess and maintain the balance between protecting children and strengthening the family unit. You will use your knowledge and skills to document case facts and present evidence in court as necessary.
