The RM of Buckland No. 491 is accepting applications for two (2) Summer Students to join the Maintenance Department for the 2026 season.
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Public Works Department, the Summer Students will assist with the installation of civic addressing signs throughout the municipality. This position involves outdoor physical labour, working in roadside environments, and operating with a high level of independence.
Key Responsibilities:
    Install civic addressing signs, including:
o    Placement and installation of metal channel posts
o    Mounting and securing signage
    Establish and maintain safe work zones in accordance with roadside safety practices
    Work safely in and around municipal roadways and rights-of-way
    Communicate with property owners and residents as required during installations
    Work effectively as part of a two-person crew
    Complete assigned work with minimal supervision
    Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean worksite
Qualifications:
    Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions
    Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
    Ability to work cooperatively in a small team environment
    Good communication and interpersonal skills
    Valid Class 5 drivers license is required
    Clean driving abstract is required
    Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or sign installation is an asset
Working Conditions:
    Full-time, seasonal summer employment (40 Hours per week)
    Work is primarily outdoors and may include uneven terrain, lifting, and roadside hazards
