Location: Moose Jaw
As the Technologist, Survey & GIS, you will work collaboratively with asset management unit staff to ensure delivery of engineering and operations services. You will provide routine to moderate engineering technology support and development for a broad range of engineering activities related to water and wastewater distribution assets
To qualify, you will have a diploma or degree in Geomatics or GIS or similar technical discipline, registration or clear path to registration as a Professional Technologist (P.Tech.) and a valid Class 5 drivers license.
In addition to the above qualifications, the job requires 6 months of progressively more experience in the following areas:
Working knowledge of surveying and modernized survey techniques: Global Positioning Systems, total stations, laser levels, automatic levels, data collectors, and conventional survey equipment.
Working knowledge of GIS and applicable software (ArcGIS, QGIS).
Familiarity with digital drafting software such as AutoCAD.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications and translate information for use by contractors and staff.
Skill in written and verbal communication, especially in communicating topics and strategy at different technical levels.
Special Requirements: The position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Record Check and Drug and Alcohol test. You must be legally entitled to work in Canada. A valid Saskatchewan drivers license is required.
