Description

Carry the Kettle First Nation (CTK) is seeking a full-time Post Secondary Education Coordinator. The Post-Secondary Education (PSE) Coordinator provides direct engagement and support services to Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation (CTK) students in pursuit of post-secondary education on and off reserve.The Coordinator takes the lead in managing and administering the federally funded Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP) and is responsible for financial reporting and accountability. Support and assistance is provided to students in the interpretation and implementation of both the federal and CTK Post-Secondary policies including the application process and disbursement of funds for post-secondary sponsorship.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provides sound leadership in managing and administering the Post-Secondary Student Support Program (PSSSP) for post-secondary education and trades/technical training
Works with post-secondary students to ensure all applications procedures and policies are understood and followed
Provides assistance and support to all students both on/off reserve with the PSSSP application and sponsorship processes
Supports students to develop their education road map to success and mentor their achievement for the attainment of education and academic goals
Provides guidance and support to students to ensure successful completion of post-secondary studies
Supports and assists students in accessing information (i.e., transcripts, marks, program of studies) from post-secondary institutions or government agencies for application purposes
Develops a communication strategy (i.e., digital and print) to keep students informed of PSSSP sponsorship deadlines, meetings, important dates, summer employment, opportunities and other relevant information
Incorporates creative strategies through various mediums to create awareness of the PSSSP application process
Oversees and coordinates in the development of the annual PSSSP funding proposal.
