Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Privacy Manager plays a critical role in safeguarding the information entrusted to Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC). This position provides expert leadership over SCICs privacy management framework, ensuring compliance with The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), the Provincial Personal Information Privacy Framework, and related federal and provincial legislationwhile enabling responsible information use that supports SCICs programs, services, and innovation.
As a trusted advisor, the Privacy Manager works across the organization to embed privacy-by-design into business practices, technology solutions, procurements, and third-party agreements. This role balances legislative interpretation, risk management, and practical problem solving to help SCIC operate responsibly, transparently, and with public trust.

What Youll Do:
This position is located at SCIC's Head Office in Melville, Saskatchewan. Consideration may be given to hybrid work arrangements within Saskatchewan. If approved for hybrid work, you will be required to work remotely preferably from one of SCIC's Customer Service Offices (CSO) within the province while making scheduled trips to head office on a monthly/quarterly basis. This includes attending onsite divisional meetings, training sessions, employee engagement and team collaboration activities, as well as corporate meetings and events.
Lead and Advise
    Provide interpretation and guidance on The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) and applicable federal and provincial privacy legislation.
    Serve as a trusted privacy advisor to leadership, staff, legal counsel, and external partners.
    Promote a strong, practical privacy culture across the organization.
