Kopahawakenum Community School is seeking an Instructional Math Coach to join our team and make a meaningful impact in Grades 14 classrooms.
As an Instructional Math Coach, you will work directly with students through small-group or pull-out instruction, supporting foundational numeracy skills like number sense, problem-solving, reasoning, and mathematical communication. You will collaborate closely with teachers and educational assistants to strengthen math instruction, model effective strategies, and help create inclusive, engaging learning experiences that reflect diverse cultural perspectives, land-based learning, and Indigenous ways of knowing.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Support:
Provide targeted math instruction to students in Grades 14, both in small groups and individually.
Saskatchewan Curriculum & Treaty Education:
Integrate Treaty Education outcomes and indicators into numeracy instruction.
Support land-based and experiential learning that connects to mathematical thinking.
Facilitate respectful engagement with Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community perspectives when appropriate.
Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree in Education; a Masters Degree or commitment to begin studies in a field appropriate would be considered an asset.
Saskatchewan Professional A Teachers Certification or the ability to obtain such standing; and a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.
Experience teaching elementary mathematics (Grades 14 preferred).
Strong understanding of foundational numeracy development and assessment-based instruction.
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and administration.
Specialized training in numeracy instruction or intervention strategies.
Experience supporting diverse learning needs.
Knowledge of Saskatchewan Treaty Education outcomes and indicators.
Understanding of First Nations and Mtis perspectives in education.
