Description

Kopahawakenum Community School is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of Nursery Instructor for the 2026-27 school year.  The school is located on the Flying Dust First Nation on the northeast side of the City of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The Kopahawakenum Community School offers a complete, modern educational program from Kindergarten to Grade 8. The school has created a welcoming environment for learning and provides ample opportunities for the students.  Kopahawakenum Community School promotes a strong balanced literacy program while incorporating language and culture into their school identity.

Key Responsibilities:
Be sensitive to the needs of students
Be reliable, motivated and be a team player as well as have the skills to work independently
Must be able to assess students in initial screening, ongoing developmental, and specialized assessments
Excellent organizational skills and planning abilities the applicant must be able to include the above process as well as plan and program holistic (physical, social-emotional, spiritual and intellectual) age-appropriate activities
Working in a multi-cultural community, the applicant must be able to engage students of varying abilities
Must establish and maintain close communication with parents, and family members, including home visits when necessary

Qualifications:
Early Childhood Education (ECE) Level 1, 2, or 3 certifications, preference would be professional teaching certificate A.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a certified ECE professional.
Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset.
Strong organizational, planning, and curriculum development skills.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel.
Must pass an RCMP Criminal Record Check.
Access to personal transportation.
