Description

Kopahawakenum Community School is seeking a motivated, organized, and community-minded Community School Coordinator to strengthen relationships between the school, families, and the community while supporting student success, wellness, and engagement. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with students, parents/guardians, Elders, staff, and community partners to develop and coordinate programs, services, and activities that enhance the overall school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Build positive relationships with students, families, community organizations, and external agencies
Coordinate school and community events, cultural activities, workshops, and family engagement initiatives
Promote parental involvement and student engagement
Support culturally relevant and land-based learning opportunities
Assist students and families in accessing community supports and services
Maintain records, reports, schedules, and program documentation
Support student wellness, attendance, and academic success initiatives
Collaborate with school staff, Elders, and community partners
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Post-secondary education in education, social work, community development, youth care, or a related field is an asset
Experience working with children, youth, families, or community programs preferred
Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions, and community resources is an asset
Valid drivers license
Must pass a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
